Important notice:

From now on, any new customer wishing to access the Internet from their home will need to have an installation done. This is regardless of whether or not you can already pick up a signal with your laptop or not and applies to all non-contracted customers, such as holiday users and pay as you go users, as well as existing customers who currently receive a poor signal.

The reason for this is as follows; Laptops in general, have very weak wireless adapters and do not receive wireless signals well over long distances, especially when there are obstructions in the way. Neither do they emit strong enough signals to ensure reliable two-way communication. This becomes a problem because data that is lost due to of poor signal quality / strength needs to be re-sent and re-received, thus slowing down the network for everyone else.

We accept that a laptop can, on occasion, pick up a good enough signal in order to connect, if it is close enough and has an unobstructed view of one of our antennas. But laptops can also be moved about, to areas of the home where they pick up weak signals and it is abuse of this that means we can no longer allow such connections.
